Petroglyphs and Pictographs found in Various Places in Wayne County.

This first set of photos is from Fish Creek Cove just south of Teasdale. Unfortunately, this panel has been very heavily vandalized.

This is what you see as you approach the panel. What struck me was the animals were headless.

Just under the red half of the circle is what looks like a chest piece similar to the ones we saw on McConkie Ranch. We saw many figures that were both pictograph and petroglyph. Perhaps this was part of something similar.

Below the pictograph are many sheep petroglyphs. Some appear to have been carved rather than pecked into the surface.

These figures are very similar to the art we saw at McConkie Ranch.

These two are close-ups of the first one. Vernal style trapezoidal bodies and combinations of petroglyphs and pictographs. McConkie Rach is 250 miles NE of Fish Creek Cove.

More Vernal style figures.

This is a close-up of the prior photo.

These show some of the many petroglyphs at the site.

The following photos are from a boulder field. All are pictographs and most are very faint.

Sean and I debated this one for a while. It's much darker than the others in the area. Is it modern? It's not spray paint. There's plenty of that in the area to compare it to.
