These are some of the resources we use to find and try to understand rock art. At times a photo will have a reference to one or more of these resources.
Castleton, Kenneth Bitner. Petroglyphs and Pictographs of Utah. Volume One, the East and Northeast. Salt Lake City, Utah: Utah Museum Of Natural History, 1984.
Castleton, Kenneth Bitner. Petroglyphs and Pictographs of Utah Volume Two, the South, Central, West and Northwest. Salt Lake City, Utah: Utah Museum Of Natural History, 1987.
Castleton's books are invaluable for locating petroglyphs and pictographs. However, they can sometimes be frustrating because he is very vague about the locations of some panels.
