100 Hands

Castleton called this area the Escalante/Calf Creek Confluence. I've seen several websites that call it different things. The panels are in an area located about halfway between Escalante and Boulder on Highway 12 near the bridge that crosses the Escalante River. I would give directions to the panels, but gjhikes does a much better job that I ever could.

These are on the way to the first panel. Sean and I debated the authenticity of the second photo.

It blows my mind that someone would try to cut a glyph out of a panel. Castleton shows a drawing of the same glyph with the cut parks around it. He last visited the site in 1976. Hopefully, People are learning to respect the rock art and leave it for everyone to enjoy. Castleton v.2, p.314

From below, it's hard to tell that they are hand prints. Castleton v.2, p.313.

Close-ups of the previous photo. The second photo is a glyph that is on the far right of the first photo. Castleton v.2, p.314.

These last three are in the area of the Shaman Panel.
