Mill Creek Canyon

Mill Creek runs through the middle of town and drains into the Colorado River where Kane Creek Boulevard turns into Kane Springs Road. The North Fork of Mill Creed flows out of the mountains to the east of town near where the Moab Dump Trail ends. There it joins Mill Creek, which runs north along the base of the cliff from Spanish Valley.

On the north fork of Mill Creek, there is a well-established trail leading to a waterfall and swimming hole the locals use to cool off in the summer.

To get to the trailhead, drive south through town on US-191 until you get to 300 South. Turn left on 300 South and drive four blocks to 400 East. Turn right on 400 East and drive two blocks to South Mill Creek Drive. There is a sign for the Sand Flats Recreational area and the Slickrock Bike Trail. Stay on Mill Creek Drive until you come to a stop sign. At the intersection, turn right to stay on South Mill Creek Drive (going straight the road turns into Sand Flats Road and leads to the trailhead for the Moab Dump Trailhead). Drive about 3/10 of a mile to Powerhouse Lane. Turn left onto Powerhouse Lane. The trailhead is approximately 6/10 of a mile.
